CLI2 - Day 1 (Kickoff ) Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Understand RLH perspectives on leadership and the connection between CLI and TOC work
  2. Build connections between cohort members (list names / roles of cohort)
  3. List general topics for the week (See RLH Goals for CLI)
  4. Generate behavioral expectations for our time together
  5. Explore ways to communicate values to teams
  6. Summarize key TOC goals and groups
  7. List key strengths and strengths of others
  8. Describe current employee concerns about leadership and climate / Connect to roadblocks for TOC work
  9. Compare / Contrast current state to aspirational state in Dare to Lead
CLI2 - Day 2 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Prioritize leadership skills previously discussed
  2. Articulate key skills from Dare to Lead
  3. Compare and contrast fixed and growth mindsets.
  4. Describe how culture influences our individual mindset
  5. Plan for ways to be a supportive communicator at ACC
  6. Discover connections to cohort members / focus on leadership wins
  7. Discover connections to cohort members / focus on leadership challenges
CLI2 - Day 3 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Relate the work of “their” area to efforts taking place in another part of the college
  2. Articulate key skills from Dare to Lead
  3. Build community and plan for day 4 discussions
  4. Distinguish between a culture of growth and a culture of genius
  5. List some reasons why a culture of growth is a benefit to an organization
  6. Articulate how perception of supervisors affects an employee’s mindset
  7. Develop competencies for an ACC leader / Define ACC leadership (as compared to management)
  8. Explore feedback provided by RLH on draft definitions and competencies
  9. Formulate ways that they can plan their tasks and prioritize leadership (in support of ToC and other team goals)
CLI2 - Day 4 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Create a list of characteristics that can help you collaborate well with your colleagues
  2. Evaluate the challenges and successes of teams as they work
  3. Identify key concerns of employees / Devise ways to offer support differently
  4. Practice kindness to the self / Resources for when work is hard
  5. Discuss leadership topics of interest (to be determined by the group)
CLI2 - Day 5 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Reflect on challenging assumptions from previous session
  2. Discuss leadership topics of interest (to be determined by the group)
  3. Create a quick “elevator pitch” drafted from a conversation with a colleague
  4. Explore options for sharing deliverables / lessons learned outside of our group
  5. Construct a summary of lessons learned over the week
  6. Question the Chancellor about TOC, Climate, or anything else on the minds of the group
  7. Assess changes needed to move forward as an ACC leader
  8. Explain next steps for cohort members
CLI2 - Day 6 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will be able to:

  1. Assess changes needed to move forward as an ACC leader
  2. Describe key points from a chapter on Cultures of Growth and Reflect on changes that could help ACC culture
  3. Contribute to a positive culture at ACC by recognizing hard work
  4. List key challenges at the CYP Campus
  5. Appraise key leadership behaviors from “Dare to Lead”
  6. Articulate plans for working with the Collective Change Lab for our “Each One Teach Many” deliverable
  7. Further hone the process and plan for producing required CLI deliverables
  8. Reflect on biggies for the day and evaluate the session
CLI2 - Day 7 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Explain how ACC employees will be evaluated on our effectiveness in the future
  2. Assess effectiveness of CLI efforts thus far
  3. List reasons that storytelling is an important part of leadership
  4. Produce stories to share with others
  5. List SAC opportunities for improvement
  6. Contribute to a positive culture at ACC by recognizing hard work.
  7. Articulate how armor and shame relate to leadership in the “Dare to Lead” framework
  8. Practice receiving feedback with a spirit of curiosity guided by the goal of building a Culture of Growth
  9. Examine options for shifting a focus from managing teams to developing leaders and functional teams.

 

CLI2 - Day 8 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Reflect on learning how to take the best of different sources
  2. Assess whether ACC is demonstrating a culture of growth or culture of genius
  3. Create resources to help spread CoG information
  4. Contribute to a positive culture at ACC by recognizing hard work
  5. Articulate ways to use data storytelling in their leadership roles
  6. List services and their locations at EVC
  7. Articulate how empathy and rumbles relate to leadership in the “Dare to Lead” framework
  8. Discover persistent challenges that impact success of community college students

 

CLI2 - Day 9 Learning Objectives

After our session, participants will:

  1. Reflect on RLH’s vision of leadership for ACC and CLI’s role in that transformation
  2. Update and clarify understanding of deliverables
  3. Select and discuss a key topic from the CoG chapter
  4. Practice “rumble” skills for challenging conversations
  5. Engage cohort in an effective “rumble”
  6. List services and their locations at RRC
  7. Connect to colleagues
  8. Explore the importance of identifying and sharing values as part of a leadership practice
  9. Contribute to a positive culture at ACC by recognizing hard work
  10. Connect Clifton Strengths to “The Seven Expectations of Great Managing” by reviewing employee feedback and responding with daring leadership
  11. Reflect on lessons learned
