Austin Community College District announces Austin Wood as the college’s next Employee Relations Officer (ERO). In this role within the Office of Equal Opportunity Compliance (Office of EOC), Wood will coordinate the employee grievance process and address concerns districtwide in collaboration with key college partners.

“I’m excited to build on the success of the inaugural year of the ERO and continue to lay the foundation of supporting employees to build a positive work environment for all to succeed,” says Wood. “The College has made significant gains to provide equitable and transparent practices across the district and I’m eager to help make a lasting impact on ACC work culture.”

Wood’s career at ACC started in January 2010 in the Office of Student Life. For the past five years, he served as the College’s first investigator with the Office of EOC. In this role, Wood helped facilitate a culture of reporting and provided resources and support to students and employees facing obstacles impacting their academic and workplace experience, respectively.

Wood is a Texas native. He received his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Mississippi and his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Edward’s University.

As of June 1, 2023, Wood assumed the role of ACC’s ERO after former ERO Kelly Torrico accepted the position of vice chancellor of Human Resources.
