Students who start their college journey strong, are more likely to finish strong. Each year, ACC loses 44 percent of its students from fall to fall. Yet, we know there are strategies that can provide the foundation to help more students stay on track. For example, when ACC students visit their advisor two or more times per term, their persistence rate increases 13 percentage points. ACC seeks to scale these programs to better support our students.
This strategy supports the pillar for Start Strong.
Key Activities
- Integrate advising across Student Affairs and Instruction into one coherent, seamless system to benefit students.
- Build a case management advising system for all students that requires two advising sessions per term, including one pre-registration for new students.
