The following is a general timeline for the Theory of Change process. Follow our progress as we move forward in our planning, design, and implementation efforts.

Theory of Change pillars and strategies identified: Start Strong, Enroll Full-time, Meet Basic Needs, Find Belonging & Connection

Strategic Plan Steering Committee becomes the Theory of Change Steering Committee.

Theory of Change tri-chairs are named: Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart (Chancellor), Dr. Monique Umprhey (Provost), and Dr. Samantha Croft (Professor).

April 2024 Collegewide call for design team nominations
May 2024 800+ Faculty & Staff nominated for design teams and 400+ completed the process for consideration.

Design teams identified and assigned to strategies.

The co-chairs of each design team announced.

Two-day leadership retreat to kick off the Theory of Change process.

June 2024 195 Faculty & Staff are seated on the fourteen design teams.
July 2024 Design team members attend a virtual touchpoint discussing the structure and timing of the Theory of Change project.
August 2024 Design team members attend a virtual touchpoint discussing teamwork dynamics and strategies.
September 2024 Day long design phase kick off event for all design team members.

Six teams launch into the design process.

October 2024 Theory of Change Institute begins with a kick off event for the 102 participants.
Community Input page launches as a channel for continual college and community feedback to design teams.
November 2024 Ten students hired as members of the six Phase 1 design teams.
December 2024 Design team members attend a virtual touchpoint discussing project updates, lessons learned so far, and available tools and resources.
January 2025 Five additional design teams launch into the design process.

Six students hired as members of the five Phase 2 design teams.

February 2025 The Grapevine Google space launches to provide timely updates to the college.

Approximately 600 ACC employees attend the Phase 1 Theory of Change Exchange, where the six Phase 1 teams present their identified problem statements.

March 2025 The Theory of Change Foundations Video Series launches with the release of the first two videos.
April 2025 The third and fourth Theory of Change Foundation videos launch.

Implementation phase nomination details are announced.

May 2025 Approximately 300 ACC employees attend the Phase 2 Theory of Change Exchange, where the five Phase 2 teams present their identified problem statements.

Meet Basic Needs implementation team nominations.

June 2025 Demonstrated Practices of Caring from Employees implementation team nominations.
July 2025 The Meet Basic Needs design team complete the delivery of their recommendations to the college community.
August 2025 The ToC badge, Cultivating Change: ToC Core Competencies, goes live, offering a development opportunity and pathway into the Theory of Change Network for all employees.

Three students hired as members of the Phase 3 design teams.

September 2025 The final stage of design begins with the launch of the three Phase 3 design teams.

The Demonstrated Practices of Caring from Employees design team completes the delivery of their recommendations to the college community.

Implementation officially begins with the onboarding of the Meet Basic Needs and Demonstrated Practices of Caring from Employees Advisory teams.

Paying for College and Required Advising implementation team nominations.

The Theory of Change Institute concludes with 57 successful completers, and the Theory of Change Network kicks off with 68 participants.

October 2025 Dual Credit and Academic Tutoring and Coaching implementation team nominations.

Implementation page added to the Theory of Change website, enabling the college community to track the progress of implementing each design recommendation.

November 2025 The Required Advising and Paying for College design teams complete the delivery of their recommendations to the college community.
December 2025 About 150 employees attend the Phase 3 Theory of Change Exchange, where the three Phase 3 teams present their identified problem statements.
Onboarding of the Required Advising Advisory Team begins.
January 2026 The Dual Credit and Academic Tutoring and Coaching design teams complete the delivery of their recommendations to the college community.
