More than 3,000 employees from across the Austin Community College District (ACC) gathered at the Highland Campus and online for General Assembly 2026. Faculty and staff are invited to relive the day by watching the full program, exploring the virtual resource fair, and sharing key takeaways and highlights from the event.
This year’s theme, “A Reimagined ACC: Building for What’s Next,” challenged faculty and staff to adapt and collaborate to design a stronger future for our students and community. Key discussion topics centered around:
- Our Theory of Change work — What we are doing to redesign our College to help our students succeed
- The Institutional Effectiveness Report Card — How we are measuring progress and impact
- The AI TRUST Framework — A tool to help us advance our work
The highlight of General Assembly was the student panel, which reminded everyone of the reason we are all here and who we are trying to do better for. The panel consisted of:
- Marcellus – Radio-Television-Film student
- Yuri – Business Administration student
- Maggie – Nursing student
- Ethan – Radiology student
- Rebbecca – Biology student
The students discussed how they got to ACC, laid out their challenges, named resources and employees who supported them along their journeys, and shared their goals.

Keep Following the Work
You can help shape ACC’s AI policy by joining the Faculty & Student AI Town Hall on Monday, October 12, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Rio Grande Campus. Faculty, students, and staff are invited to have an open conversation about AI in higher education, the current state of AI at ACC, in-progress AI policies, and how the College can move forward together.
Visit austincc.edu/projects to see how these efforts are moving forward across the College, and how they connect to ACC’s work to improve student success and the student experience.
