Austin Community College District (ACC) brought its programs, services, and Riverbat spirit directly to the Pflugerville community during the Discover ACC in Pflugerville event on April 29, 2026. ACC welcomed approximately 280 attendees, far exceeding the initial goal of 100 guests.

Attendees were greeted by ACC staff and met with representatives from dozens of areas across the College to learn more about what ACC has to offer. The College provided tacos from local restaurant El Rincon.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Community members expressed appreciation for ACC bringing valuable resources directly to them. Many guests noted that the event was highly informative, particularly in explaining the differences between in-district and out-of-district benefits.

Connecting with Future Riverbats
The college exploration event provided a timely opportunity to connect with community members, as many prospective students make critical decisions about the upcoming fall semester.

The Office of College Relations & Marketing (OCRM) and Recruitment teams collected contact information for 250 new prospective leads.

Smart Community Outreach
Instead of spending money on traditional advertising for the event, the College’s OCRM team relied on strong public relations efforts, community relationship-building, and owned media channels to get the word out.

College Relations established stronger connections with 26 community groups and partners, while 163 local businesses received ACC event materials.

What’s Next?
The momentum continues as OCRM and Recruitment begin dedicated outreach to the new prospective contacts. Meanwhile, College Relations will continue to engage with community partners by attending upcoming local events, including Music in the Park and Deutschen Pfest.
