Reimagine what it means to lead, learn, and belong at ACC. Austin Community College (ACC) is launching a new immersive learning experience designed to bring our community together in meaningful ways. The Great College Program is an opportunity for employees from every corner of the College to connect, collaborate, and reflect on what makes ACC a great college — and how we can make it even greater.

Developed in response to requests from employees shared through focus groups and other ACC research, the program was created to address a clear need: more opportunities to build relationships across roles, strengthen our sense of belonging, and explore leadership rooted in connection and purpose.

“The Great College Program is about more than leadership—it’s about rediscovering who we are together,” says Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, ACC Chancellor. “Our employees asked for more ways to connect, to learn from one another, and to build a stronger sense of community across campuses. This program is our response. It’s an invitation to step away from the routine, dream together, and shape the kind of college where everyone belongs and thrives.”

About the Program

The Great College Program invites participants to engage in deep, authentic conversations about leadership, learning, and community. 

The program is an extension of the Chancellor’s Leadership Institute and is open to all ACC faculty, staff, and administrators. Participants will explore how each of us can contribute to a culture where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.

About the Experience

The program will launch in spring 2026. The inaugural cohort will be limited to 25 employees. Those selected will take part in a multi-day interactive workshop led by Russell and a team of facilitators. It’s a rare opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the College and grow as a leader—no matter your title or position.

  • Application Season: The application opens December 3 and will close on January 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Participants will be announced in early February.
