Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrates Riverbat grads at the 2nd Annual Alumni Achievement Awards on Thursday, September 11, at the Rio Grande Campus. The event honors graduates who continue to make an impact in our community and beyond.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Dustin Bolander – Alumni Service Award
  • Jonathan Barona – Community Leader of the Year
  • Michael Lofton – Distinguished Alumni Award
  • Michelle McCarty – Social Impact & Innovation Award
  • The Tiarras (Tori, Sophia & Tiffany Baltierra) – G.O.L.D. (Graduates of the Last Decade) Award

Victor Diaz, ACC alum and award-winning journalist, will serve as master of ceremonies.

The evening begins at 5 p.m. with student-led activations, followed by the awards ceremony at 5:45 p.m. Guests will enjoy light refreshments and an opportunity to connect with fellow Riverbats.

Employees are encouraged to attend and celebrate these remarkable alumni.

“The Alumni Achievement Awards are more than just a ceremony — they’re a reminder of why we do what we do,” says Mary Ann Cicala, ACC Alumni Network. “Each honoree represents lives changed through education, families strengthened, and communities transformed. Their stories reflect the impact that every ACC employee makes, whether you’re teaching in the classroom, supporting services, or keeping our campuses running.”

The event is free, but an RSVP is requested because space is limited.
