Fall enrollment numbers at Austin Community College District (ACC) are growing fast. Data indicate approximately 4,000 more students are expected — that’s up about 15% compared to fall 2024.
To help meet the growing demand, the College expects to add an additional 500 sections and 30,000 more semester credit hours to the fall course schedule, but current staffing can’t keep up with the growth. A special adjunct faculty hiring fair will be held on Friday, July 25, to recruit new faculty.
“Our faculty have been amazing. They’re stepping in and asking how they can help. This is a clear call to continue to rise to meet the needs of our incoming and continuing students in a robust way,” says Dr. Beth Knight, ACC Academic Programs associate vice chancellor. “This is an incredible opportunity for someone who’s thought about leading a classroom. We know there are community members who are ready for this opportunity to support the academic journey of students. This is ideal for someone with solid subject matter expertise and the heart to support our students. We’re here to help the right candidate get set up for success in the classroom.”
The hiring fair will be held at the ACC Highland Campus.
