Registration is now open for the Fall 2025 semester at Austin Community College District (ACC). Students are encouraged to register early to secure the classes they need and build a schedule that works for them.
Enrollment at ACC has grown more than 10% over the past year and is expected to rise again this fall. Registration for current students starts Monday, May 12, and opens for everyone on Friday, May 16.
Free Tuition Pilot Program
The second cohort for ACC’s Free Tuition Pilot Program begins this fall. The program covers tuition and general fees for eligible high school graduates and TX GED® completers from the Class of 2024 through Class of 2028. Learn more at austincc.edu/freetuition.
In its first year, the program enrolled nearly 5,000 students in both Fall 2024 (4,982) and Spring 2025 (5,021), contributing to a record Fall 2024 enrollment. The program drove a nearly 40% jump in direct-to-college enrollment for high school grads compared to the prior fall. Its impact is especially notable in student retention: 81% of Free Tuition participants returned for the spring semester—outpacing past cohorts.
ACC also offers financial aid, scholarships, and payment plans to help students manage tuition costs. In April, the ACC Board of Trustees voted to maintain tuition and general fees for a 12th consecutive year, reinforcing the College’s focus on affordability and student success. In-district students pay $85 per credit hour—a rate that remains among the lowest in Texas.
Students receive a variety of free support services to help with the registration process, including academic advising, financial aid counseling, and personalized course planning. Students also benefit from free access to student support and student life services throughout the semester.
Short semester courses are available, allowing students to complete classes in as few as 8, 12, or 14 weeks. The Fall 2025 semester begins Monday, August 25.
