Austin Community College District (ACC), in partnership with the University of Texas (UT) at Austin’s Hemispheres Consortium, is hosting a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) focused on globalizing curriculum for the 2025–26 academic year.
This two-semester program will bring together a diverse, interdisciplinary group of ACC faculty to explore global topics through the lens of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will examine key global issues—including human rights, gender equity, and peace studies—with guidance from expert speakers and the support of UT’s Hemispheres International Outreach Consortium.
Faculty will work collaboratively to create or revise curriculum that reflects a more global, inclusive, and equity-minded perspective. Each participant will complete a culminating project, such as a course redesign or new module, and share their work with peers through presentations and a blog post for ACC’s Teaching & Learning Excellence Division.
Participants will receive a $1,250 stipend, distributed in two payments upon completion of the fall and spring requirements. Meetings will be held monthly, mostly via Zoom, with the exception of two in-person events at ACC Highland Campus, including a kick-off on Friday, August 22, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The deadline to apply is Friday, April 25, 2025. Click this link to apply.
Selected faculty will be notified by May 5. Learn more about past participants’ experiences by watching this YouTube video.
