Austin Community College District (ACC) hosted its inaugural Retiree Luncheon. More than 40 former ACC employees attended the luncheon on September 27 at ACC’s Rio Grande Campus.

The luncheon was an opportunity to bring ACC’s former employees back into the fold and help provide them with a sense of purpose and belonging.

ACC Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart provided attendees with a presentation, where he shared the College’s new values, Theory of Change, and recent data.

“It was joyful to meet and thank the individuals who built Austin Community College. I loved hearing their stories and sharing the roadmap for our future,” says Dr. Lowery-Hart.

Some of the feedback from retirees included:

– This event has made us feel valued.

– Do we have to wait a year to get together again?

– It is wonderful to see so many old friends.

The College plans to host a luncheon for retirees annually.
