March is Women’s History Month, an annual celebration to reflect on past, present, and future women who have made an impact. This month, Austin Community College District (ACC) hosts events and activities that honor women throughout history and those who make the college what it is.
The 2024 National Women’s History Month theme celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.”
College events planned this month include:
Women’s History Month: Celebration and Q&A Panel
Date: Friday, March 29
Time: Noon – 1 p.m.
Location: Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Center at ACC Highland Campus, Building 4000
Details: Guests will leave with a deeper appreciation for women’s history, a sense of empowerment, and a commitment to advancing equality in their communities. Lunch will be provided.
Representing Women in The Art Museum: Curator Talk With Lana Meador
Date: Tuesday, March 5
Time: 5 to 6 p.m.
Location: ACC Highland Campus, Building 2000, HLC 2.1550 (Presentation Hall)
VAMP Women’s Month Celebration
Date: Saturday, March 23
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: ACC Highland Campus, Building 2000, HLC 2.2560
The events are sponsored by ACC’s African American Cultural Center, Asian American & Pacific Islander Cultural Center, Latin American Cultural Center, the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Center, ACC Music, and The Art Galleries at ACC.
