The Make It Center (MIC) at ACC Highland Campus hosted a successful ribbon-cutting ceremony in May. The Center continues to host select events while finalizing the remaining exhibit installations. View photos of the Center’s progress below the update.

The following highlights are from the most recent update provided by Dr. Janelle Green, ACC Make It Center Director:

Installation of the Active Scene glass projection system in the Innovation Hub is finished and the software has been programmed. Additional furniture has been delivered for the Inspiration Hub and adjustments are being made to some of the furniture. Work on outstanding lighting items continues and speakers will be installed throughout the space soon. Work is underway to ensure accessibility at the entrance. Requisitions for a Heavy Equipment and Truck Driving simulator are underway. 

Events & Programming

The Make It Center hosted a special VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 18. View video from the event below. A communitywide grand opening ceremony is planned for late summer.

Also in May, the Center hosted a site visit, tour, and panel for the Aspen Institute’s Opportunity Youth Forum. Read more HERE.

The Center also hosted groups of 4th and 5th graders from Campbell Elementary, visitors from the Koch Foundation, and an ARMA board meeting. 

Summer camps and programming started mid-June, and the Center will continue to host select events throughout the summer.
