ACC’s new Make It Center hosted approximately 40 guests of the Aspen Institute’s Opportunity Youth Forum on Monday, May 22. The delegation of service providers from across the country held their annual convening in Austin and selected the Make It Center as one of four destinations to explore.

The site visit included a tour of the Make It Center and some of the programs at ACC Highland, including the IMPACT Lab, Health Sciences Simulation Center, Radio-Television-Film, and Music Production. Guests also participated in a mobile services make-and-take project and heard a panel discussion with ACC Chancellor Dr. Richard Rhodes, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Dr. Shasta Buchanan, a Tesla representative, and a student connected to ACC via partnerships with American Youthworks.

The group learned about the Make It Center’s design and program model, how the center will contribute to improving success outcomes for opportunity youth, the center’s collaboration with industry and community partners, and more. View photos from their visit below.
