Austin Community College District (ACC) invites the community to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new event pavilion at ACC Highland on Monday, March 27, at 10 a.m.
The UFCU Pavilion — named in appreciation of the $5 million donation gifted from University Federal Credit Union to ACC in 2022 — was created to provide our community with a new park and event space in the heart of the ACC Highland community.
The new Pavilion is going up at the new St. John’s Encampment Commons Park. The 2.5-acre park is situated northeast of the ACC Highland South Parking Garage and east of the City of Austin Permitting & Development Center.
Once open, the St. John Encampment Commons Park and the UFCU Pavilion will be a community gathering space designed to accommodate gatherings and performances of all sizes and the ability to host events with up to 4,000 people.
The opening of the park and pavilion coincide with the celebration of ACC’s founding 50 years ago and will be the site of numerous celebrations. Both spaces will open later this year.
