Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Week, January 16-20, coincided with the start of ACC’s spring 2023 semester. ACC’s TRHT Campus Center hosted a series of events throughout the week centered around this year’s theme of “Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Begins with Me.”

In partnership with the college’s Culinary Department, Early College High Schools, The Art Gallery, the Austin Public Library, and more, the TRHT Center presented a culinary demonstration, racial healing circles, roundtable discussions, panels, workshops, and art exhibits.

The Voting Rights Panel held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, featured Austin’s NAACP President Nelson Linder, State Representative James Talarico, Travis County Precinct One Commissioner Jeff Travilion, and Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar Bruce Elefant.

The Leveraging White Privilege workshop on Friday, January 20, allowed participants to discuss race and white privilege without fear, guilt, and/or shame.

Chef Bryant Currie hosted a Culinary Demonstration: Foods of Religion Demo and Discussion on Tuesday, January 17.

An Art Show and Contest was held on the National Day of Racial Healing, January 17.

Round Rock Early College High School students created Chalkwalk Art on January 20.
