What do our students think about Austin Community College and being part of the community college world? You can now find out directly from them! This month, ACC launched a new social media channel on TikTok to connect even more with our current and future students.

The new account hosted a soft launch on Monday, January 31, with its first video featuring ACC student Angelica L. In the clip, Angelica shares her favorite things about being an ACC student. It features the trending TikTok theme called “Questions I Get Asked.”
Since launching, the 14-second video has generated 235 views, 24 likes, and 1 comment. It’s been shared 6 times.
More videos will launch this week, and the Office of College Relations & Marketing (OCRM) is ready to show everyone what’s happening on TikTok. OCRM is teaming up with students, faculty, and staff to develop more high-impact clips that follow the latest trends and highlight specific programs or list the advantages of being a community college student. ACC’s account will showcase our campuses, provide an authentic look at day-to-day activities, and share campus news.

The social media platform is among the top preferred outlets among traditional-age students. More than 60 percent of TikTok users are Gen Z.
