15th annual Golf Scramble benefits Student Emergency Fund

Registration is happening now for Austin Community College District’s (ACC) 15th annual Golf Scramble benefiting the college’s Student Emergency Fund (SEF).

The SEF helps students facing unexpected financial expenses stay on track and can cover the costs of tuition, books, and fees. 

“Had it not been for the scholarship, I probably would not have considered coming back for my associate degree because of that financial barrier. This is a weight lifted off my shoulders and I really can focus now on school, on getting my degree,” says Melanie Castro, an ACC Career Scholar and scholarship recipient.

The tournament, co-sponsored by SpawGlass construction firm, is Friday, October 8, at Riverside Golf Course (1020 Grove Blvd.). 

Registration covers green fees, carts, beverages, and prizes. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place as well as longest drive and closest to the pin.
