The Riverbat community has selected the winning topic for Austin Community College District (ACC)’s next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), and the winning topic is Digital Fluency for Today’s Jobs.
“While we felt confident that all four of the topics selected by the committee would have been valuable to our students, it is clear that the goal of improving digital fluency resonated strongly with the ACC family. We are excited to get started on developing this QEP with the terrific team that proposed this topic for ACC’s Academic Master Plan (AMP),” say Misty Rasmussen and Dr. Missi Patterson, QEP co-chairs.
Learn more about the topic by watching the video below.
Voting on the QEP finalists was open from September 14 – 23, 2021. When voting, people were asked to rank-order all four topics rather than picking just one favorite. Below is the actual ranking of topics:

- Creating a Culture of Inclusivity through Universal Design for Learning (topic suggestion form proposal)
- Investing in the Liberal Arts: Redesigning Gateway Courses (AMP proposal)
- On the Write Track (topic suggestion form proposal)
There were 473 respondents, which can be broken down into groups as follows:
- Staff – 36%
- Full-time faculty – 24%
- Students – 23%
- Adjunct faculty – 11%
- Administration – 5%
- Community member/other – 1%
Further details about the voting process are available on the QEP Topic Selection Committee page.
Starting in October, a second QEP committee will begin work to create a five-year action plan for the chosen topic. This work will run through July 2022. Recruiting for the committee will start soon. To learn more, visit the QEP Development Committee page.
The QEP is a vital step in the reaffirmation of ACC’s accreditation. For more information, visit the QEP website.
