The Character Education Initiative (CEI) and the Office of Faculty Development and Evaluation invite Austin Community College (ACC) faculty and staff to participate in an academic year-long book club exploring “Confucian Philosophy for Contemporary Education” by Charlene Tan.
Led by Dr. Shih-Ting Lee, adjunct professor in the Student Development Department and manager of the Office of Faculty Evaluation, the book club will bring together nine faculty and staff members to discuss Confucian character virtues and how they can inform innovative support systems for holistic student development. Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Book Club Details
- Meeting Dates: October 28, November 18, February 24, and March 24
- Time: 4-5 p.m.
- Modality: Virtual via Zoom
Books will be available through the ACC library system for participants and must be returned to the Faculty Evaluation Suite at the Highland Campus, Building 8000, at the end of the book club period.
