Would you like to make a difference in a student’s life? Consider serving as a mentor for one of Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Student Success Programs — ASCENDER and BRASS. These programs support first-generation and historically underrepresented students by helping them build connections, confidence, and a sense of belonging throughout their college journey.

As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build a meaningful connection with a student and support their personal and academic growth
  • Encourage and support students throughout their college journey
  • Share your experiences and professional insights
  • Help students build confidence, motivation, and connections at ACC
  • Make a lasting impact that extends far beyond the classroom

The time commitment is flexible, requiring approximately 6–9 hours per semester, with optional mentor gatherings and engagement opportunities throughout the year. Training, resources, and ongoing support will be provided to help you feel prepared and successful in your role.
