Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the emancipation of slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865 — two and a half years after the official Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln. Austin Community College District (ACC) will host the College’s annual Juneteenth Celebration, participate in the community parade, and close in honor of the day.

ACC’s 2026 Juneteenth Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 18, at the Eastview Campus. Hosted by the ACC’s African American Cultural Center, the communitywide Juneteenth celebration will include music, games, giveaways, and more. This event is free and open to the public.
