Austin Community College District (ACC) Honors student and mechanical engineering major Dean Legend has been selected to participate in the 2026 US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute. He is the first ACC Honors student selected for this prestigious opportunity.
During the all-expenses-paid, three-week program, Dean will study at the University of Bristol, where he will explore the intersection of art, activism, and social justice through a unique academic and cultural experience.
“Through Dr. Thomas’s weekly newsletters and consistent encouragement, I’ve gained the confidence to apply for programs that have strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my commitment to community impact,” Dean shared.
The US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute is a fully funded, academic and cultural program for undergraduates. The program offers immersive, themed courses at premier universities in the United Kingdom, covering travel, tuition, and accommodation for students.
