Austin Community College District (ACC) Continuing Education Automotive Program students put their skills to work at the inaugural Vehicle Taillight Repair Clinic. Hosted in partnership with the City of San Marcos, the January 31, 2026, event took place at the San Marcos City Hall Complex.
Students provided free 10-point vehicle inspections—checking everything from tire pressure to fluid levels—and installed replacement taillights for local residents. The clinic was born after San Marcos Councilmember Amanda Rodriguez reached out a few months ago with the idea to help neighbors while providing students with valuable hands-on training.
This initiative highlights how aligning education with community needs benefits the entire region. ACC looks forward to continuing these service-learning partnerships in the future.
