Join the Teaching and Learning Excellence Division’s Office of Experiential Learning and the Office of Belonging and Purpose for a thought-provoking film screening and resource fair focused on community and civic engagement.

“Join or Die,” an award-winning documentary directed by Rebecca Davis and Pete Davis, explores the importance of civic participation through the life and work of renowned social scientist Robert Putnam. The film draws on Putnam’s landmark study “Bowling Alone,” which examines the decline of community connections and social trust in America, and asks how rebuilding civic life could strengthen democracy today.

Each screening will be paired with a resource fair where you can learn how to get involved at Austin Community College—whether through student organizations, volunteer opportunities, or voting initiatives.
