Austin Community College District (ACC) has affirmed its commitment to helping students address basic needs with the launch of its inaugural C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance, Resources, and Empowerment) Network Center at the Round Rock Campus. The College held an open house for faculty and staff on Wednesday, August 20, to help them learn how to connect students to the center.
The Center is a holistic network of care — both resources and services — committed to helping students address their basic needs. Students will be able to access a variety of basic needs support services, including mental health, child care, housing and utilities assistance, and food.
Faculty and staff were able to tour and learn more about the C.A.R.E. Network Center’s Mental Health Counseling Services, Basic Needs & Advocacy, and ACC Riverbat Bites Food Pantry areas.

The reception area includes a children’s space.

The Riverbat Bites Food Pantry will offer a variety of food options and essential care items at no charge to students and employees.

Students can meet with mental health counselors or visit the meditation room to meditate or pray.
Over the next few years, support services will expand to include drop-in child care and medical care.
