To help meet the fall enrollment surge, Austin Community College District (ACC) held an Adjunct Faculty Hiring Fair on Friday, July 25. Hundreds of community members attended the event to explore career options with ACC.

With approximately 4,000 more students expected compared to fall 2024 enrollment, the College is adding hundreds of new course sections to the fall schedule. Fourteen ACC departments with sections to fill were represented at the fair, including Psychology, History, Biology, and Student Development, conducting pre-scheduled interviews and engaging with walk-ins.

The event attracted a total of 333 attendees, with 54 of them receiving job offers at the event—pending credential verifications and background and reference checks.

Another 50 attendees were recently hired adjunct faculty who came to complete their paperwork, go through orientation, and connect with new colleagues.

A team from ACC Human Resources was on-site and processed more than 100 I-9 forms and other hiring documents.

It was all hands on deck for the hiring fair, which came together in just three weeks by a team of ACC employees led by Faculty Recruitment Associate Dean Michelle Costanzo. Instructional deans and department chairs played an integral role, and 119 faculty, staff, students, and administrators volunteered to help staff the event.

Costanzo, who is teaching Hospitality Human Resources this summer, used the event as an opportunity to give a group of students from her class some hands-on learning. From greeting and managing registration to ensuring that hiring managers conducting non-stop interviews had food and water available, they got experience in hospitality, event management, and HR.

There are still job opportunities available. View ACC’s current adjunct faculty job postings HERE.
