Open enrollment for ACC employees is almost here! The window for changing insurance plans and benefits for fiscal year (FY) 2026 is June 30 through July 11. The biggest change this year is a rate increase that applies to dependents, part-time employees, retirees with “tiered” state contributions, survivors, and COBRA participants.
Dental insurance will also go up 8%, and vision plans will increase 10%. The rate increase won’t affect full-time ACC employees whose health insurance is fully paid for.
Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) says the increases are necessary to keep up with rising medical costs nationwide.
Any employee with health, vision, or dental policies through ACC should review their plans to determine if any changes should be made. Changes can be made only once a year during a two-week period unless the employee has a qualifying event, such as getting married or having a baby.
If you want everything to stay the same, you don’t have to do anything. But for those considering changes, several information sessions have been scheduled.
Representatives from the ERS will attend the Summer Enrollment Fair to talk about this year’s rates and answer questions. Vendors will be there to introduce some of the benefits of HealthSelect plans, including a new personalized diabetes management program.
