Austin Community College District (ACC) students and employees had the opportunity to learn more about the sole finalist for the ACC District Chief of Police position, Gizette Gaslin-Disher. The College hosted a campus conversation with Gaslin-Dishert at the ACC Highland Campus Presentation Hall on Thursday, May 29.

The event started with a meet-and-greet, allowing attendees the opportunity to talk directly with Gaslin-Disher, who currently serves as Austin Police Department Assistant Chief

During the campus conversation, ACC Executive Vice Chancellor of Finance & Administration Neil Vickers provided an overview of the process. He then asked Gaslin-Disher to introduce herself before diving into prepared questions. They also took questions from the audience.

The ACC District Police Chief is responsible for all public safety operations across the ACC District, providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and emergency preparedness to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, employees, and visitors.

Vickers said that the committee will make a final decision within the next couple of weeks.
