Austin Community College District (ACC) will transition its virtual classroom to Blackboard Ultra starting June 2, 2025. Virtual and in-person training sessions continue to take place throughout the summer to provide continued support for faculty teaching in Ultra for the first time in the fall 2025 semester.
Faculty assigned to summer courses can already see their Ultra course shells in Blackboard and are encouraged to begin exploring this new platform and building their course content.
To ensure students feel prepared for the new platform, Student Affairs and Instruction teams are working together to launch a robust communication campaign.
This upgrade comes after 14 months of planning, testing, and collaboration to provide students with a more intuitive, engaging, and accessible learning experience. Blackboard Ultra offers a streamlined journey that simplifies navigation, enhances engagement, and provides a more responsive experience—whether on a laptop, tablet, or phone.
