Faculty and staff are invited to join the Teaching and Learning Excellence Division’s Office of Experiential Learning for the Apprenticeships 101 Virtual Session on National Apprenticeship Day, Wednesday, April 30. The session is designed to help Austin Community College District (ACC) faculty and staff explore the benefits of apprenticeships and discover how to integrate these hands-on learning opportunities into academic programs.

Apprenticeships 101 will provide an overview of the different types of apprenticeship models, outline the support available for participating departments, and offer guidance on building connections between students and local employers.
What to Expect
- Apprenticeship Foundations: Learn the basics of Registered Apprenticeships and Industry-Recognized Apprenticeships. Understand how these programs bridge classroom learning with real-world applications.
- Faculty & Department Involvement: Explore how your department can partner with ACC’s Apprenticeship team to embed apprenticeship opportunities into your curriculum. The team will help you connect students with employers and navigate every step of the process.
- Comprehensive Support: From coordinating logistics to tracking student progress, the Apprenticeship Program team provides full support to faculty and staff who participate.
- Academic & Student Impact: Apprenticeships boost academic engagement, improve retention, and support student success by aligning learning with career pathways.
Apprenticeships give students meaningful, career-connected experiences that enrich their learning and empower them to succeed. This session is open to all ACC employees interested in learning more about how to get involved.
