To enhance the security of Apple OS devices and ACC-provided email accounts, ACC will enable Single Sign-On (SSO) for all College-owned Apple OS devices (MacBooks, iMacs, etc.) effective Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m.

Below is what faculty and staff who use Apple OS devices need to know.

How Does This Benefit Me?

  • You will now use your ACCeID and password to log in to your Apple OS device, simplifying account management with a single set of credentials.
  • The new login screen will be familiar, resembling those used for Workday, Google, and other ACC services.

What is Jamf Connect?

  • Jamf Connect is a macOS management tool designed to simplify and secure the login process on Apple devices. It allows users to authenticate with cloud-based identity providers, such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), or Google Workspace, instead of relying solely on local Mac accounts.

What Should I Do to Prepare?

  1. Ensure you have an active ACC email account. ACC email accounts are typically issued to new employees and students. Click here for more information.
  2. Recognize the new login screen.
    • If you were not previously using Jamf Connect and don’t recognize the current login screen, you will be prompted to merge your existing local account with your ACCeID account during this change. The former Jamf Connect login screen is Figure 1. The ACC-branded login screen will be the new login screen for Jamf Connect users, Figure 2.

What to Expect During the Migration

  1. Upon seeing the new login screen, you will be asked to merge your local account with your new ACCeID account.
  2. After logging in with your ACCeID, you will be prompted to select the account you wish to connect. Choose the account you typically use (it should resemble your first and last name).
  3. You will be asked to confirm your current local account password (the one you previously used to log in to your Mac).
  4. As part of this process, you will be prompted to agree to the Acceptable Use Policy before selecting “Done.”

What Happens Next?

Once complete, all your data from your previous local account will be accessible through your ACCeID account. Moving forward, you will use your ACCeID and password to log in to your Apple OS device.
