Do you know a student interested in civic leadership, community advocacy, public policy, or government service? ACC’s Center for Government & Civic Service (CGCS) hosts a special Civic Leadership Simulation Monday, March 10.
Participants will build skills in strategic communication by stepping into a public health crisis scenario where they will role-play and participate in discussions with each other and select experts.

ACC’s Civic Leadership Simulations are designed to teach and exercise skills crucial to effective and impactful civic leadership and public service. The CGCS provides a constructive and realistic setting for participants to practice what they’re learning and build confidence.
“I arrived at the simulation with very little background information, and to be honest, I was only there to exempt myself from a final paper for my American Literature class. That being said, I spontaneously volunteered for a Primary Role when it was announced that one was up for grabs,” says Sage Westfall, ACC student and past participant. “I was pleasantly surprised with how engaging it was. Even though I didn’t achieve all of my role’s objectives, I gained a lot of insight on how to navigate through hard topics within large groups and how a town hall meeting looks like. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in developing communication, teamwork, and debating skills.”
This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff. No experience is needed to participate. If you are interested in participating, complete the questions on the RSVP form to register. The CGCS staff will contact you with more information.
