Austin Community College District (ACC) seeks loving homes for animals cared for by students in the Veterinary Technology program. These dogs and cats have undergone socialization and leash training, been microchipped, and received vaccinations and heartworm prevention.
The animals come from local shelters, and any not adopted by the ACC community at the end of the semester may be relocated to foster families or returned to the shelter. ACC encourages faculty, staff, and students to consider adoption, fostering, or donating to partner organizations to support these pets.
Three steps to your new best friend:
- Visit ACC Elgin Campus: Schedule a meet-and-greet by contacting Libby Chow at [email protected].
- Meet & Match: Spend time with our adoptable pets to find the one who’s perfect for you.
- Apply & Bring Them Home: Complete an application and pay a small adoption fee that supports their care.

When you adopt from ACC’s Vet Tech Program, you’re doing more than giving a pet a loving home—you’re also helping students gain real-world veterinary care experience. For more information on the program, visit austincc.edu/vettech.
