The Teaching and Learning Excellence Division’s (TLED) Office of Faculty Development and Evaluation hosts the inaugural Faculty and Family Connections Day on Saturday, November 9. This special event is part of our Belonging and Connection Theory of Change initiative, focusing on fostering strong student support by involving families in their academic journey.

Faculty and Family Connections Day

Date: Saturday, November 9
Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: ACC Highland Campus ACCelerator, Building 1000!

Family involvement has been shown to increase student engagement, motivation, and academic performance. By closing the knowledge gap for first-generation families and creating essential support networks, we can help our students thrive.

This event will allow parents and families to connect with faculty, gain a deeper understanding of the academic journey, and discover ways to support their student’s success.

Event Highlights:

  • Faculty keynote and presentations
  • Campus tours and mock classes
  • Discussions on academic expectations and career paths
  • Tabling with college resources and student services
  • Raffle prizes
  • Light lunch and refreshments

Faculty members from all Areas of Study are encouraged to participate to help make this event impactful for our students and their families.
