Austin Community College District (ACC) invites faculty and staff to submit a proposal for Spring Development Day (SDD) 2025. This year’s theme is “Spring Forward: Creating a Mosaic of Opportunities.”
The annual event offers attendees inspiring sessions to enhance their practices and processes, improve creativity and wellness, and develop new technical talents, teaching techniques, and interpersonal skills. It also provides opportunities for networking and collaboration.
SSD 2025 will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 8:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and all workshops — with the exception of the keynote presentation — will be conducted via Zoom.
Call for Proposals Details
The Office of Faculty Development invites proposals for sessions that explore tools that further enhance the learning and working environment at ACC.
The proposal submission deadline is Monday, November 4, 2024. Accepted presenters will be notified by the second week of December.
We are seeking presenters for workshops that focus on:
- ACC Resources
- Accessibility and Universal Design
- Active and Engaged Teaching
- Assessment Techniques
- Creativity
- Purpose & Belonging
- Soft Skills (leadership, communication, time management, etc.)
- Technology
- Wellness
The scheduled workshop and demonstration times are:
- 8:45 – 9 a.m. (Opening)
- 9 – 10 a.m.
- 10:15 – 11:15 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Keynote Presentation)
- 1 – 2 p.m.
- 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.
- 3:15 – 3:30 p.m. (Closing)
Double blocks of time can be requested if more presentation time is desired. You are encouraged to consider sharing strategies, resources, or tools that contribute to enhancing ACC’s educational community.

Join us for an employee mixer the day before SDD, filled with free food and art activities hosted by Office of Faculty Development Interim Manager Chelsea Biggerstaff. Additional details will be announced closer to the event.

Spring Development Day:
This year’s event will offer four dynamic sessions along with a keynote presentation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendees can choose from up to eight workshop offerings per session.
