Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the emancipation of slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865 — two and a half years after the official Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln. ACC honors this special day of freedom, achievement, and reflection by welcoming the community onto our campus to learn and celebrate.

In addition to the day of celebration, ACC will observe the historic day. The college will be closed on Wednesday, June 19. All campuses and activities will reopen and resume their normal schedules Thursday, June 20.
