ACC Adjunct Professor Dr. Rodney Rohde was one of 25 awardees nationwide to be named to The Pathologist 2023 Power List. The recognition spans the pathology and laboratory medicine professions.

The InnovATEBIO Center at ACC received national recognition in a White House report on Building the Bioworkforce of the Future. The report was released this summer at an InnovATEBIO summit in Washington, D.C., which was organized and chaired by ACC Biotechnology Department Chair Dr. Linnea Fletcher. ACC Chancellor Dr. Richard Rhodes presented at the summit on “Community Colleges as Bridges to the Bioscience Future.”

ACC Professor of Psychology Dr. Missi Patterson was elected the president of the Texas Community College Teachers Association (TCCTA) for 2023-24. ACC is an institutional member of the statewide association and membership is open to faculty, staff and administrators. 

The first cohort of the new Machinist Apprenticeship Program (MAP) has graduated. These students completed the 22-week MAP program and are apprentices for One Source and Athena. ACC’s Continuing Education Architectural & Engineering CAD Department partnered with Workforce Solutions and the Austin Regional Manufacturing Association to create MAP. The program will help meet the demand for experienced entry-level CNC machinists.
