As students head back to the Austin Community College District (ACC) classroom, the college celebrates students at all different parts of their educational journey.

Meet Angel Marcano, a Business Administration (BUA) student who is returning to ACC after attending Round Rock Early College High School.

“Going to early college high school helped me because now I feel prepared to go to a full course of college now. I am looking forward to getting my education, meeting new people, and learning new connections so that I can build a good group around.”

Angel is part of ACC’s Career Scholars Program. The all-inclusive scholarship program covers the cost of tuition and fees at ACC and also provides free academic and career support, such as free tutoring, advising, internship and apprenticeship opportunities, resume guidance, and job search support.

“Career Scholars was a big opportunity for me, so I just took it. I am somebody who doesn’t know too much or where to go or what to do exactly. To know I have that support from ACC, it feels really good to know that I can go to somebody if I have any questions.”

After completing his associate’s degree at ACC, Angel plans to continue his education to meet his career goals.

“I want to continue my education and get my bachelor’s degree. After that, I want to get my real estate license and go forward with that.”
