More than 150 students accompanied by their parents/families attended ACC’s inaugural Big Day Orientation event on Friday, August 11, 2023.

This new student orientation model was designed and hosted by ACC’s Orientation Team. Departments such as Student Life, BRASS, Transfer Services, Career Services, Academic Coaching, and Financial Aid gave presentations to the students and their families to help them get better acquainted with all of the ways ACC supports our Riverbats.

Students also toured some of the departments and centers at the Highland Campus such as the ACCelerator, IMPACT Lab, Drama, Audio Technology & Industry, Fashion Design, and the Make It Center, where students were able to create hands-on projects such as a 3D-printed Formula 1 race car.

In addition to the many activities and programs for students, their families were able to participate as well. Dr. Theresa Glenn — from ACC’s new Parents and Families Relations Office — led conversations to help families learn how important their role is in the success of their student’s education.

The Orientation Team will continue to work to improve the orientation experience for our students.
