Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the emancipation of slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865 — two and a half years after the official Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln. ACC honors this special day of freedom, achievement, and reflection by welcoming the community onto our campus to learn and celebrate.
Join ACC’s 2023 Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 16, at the Eastview Campus, and invite your friends, family, and colleagues to participate in this important day. Hosted by the African American Cultural Center at ACC, the communitywide Juneteenth celebration will include music, games, live performances, and more.
