Spring Development Day welcomes all ACC faculty and staff to a new spring semester. This year’s Spring Development Day will be a faculty and staff showcase, and proposals for sessions that explore tools that further enhance the learning and working environment at ACC are now being accepted.
During Spring Development Day, we explore the innovative teaching practices and research in which ACC faculty are involved. Demonstrations by departments are also welcomed and encouraged. In addition, the services and support provided to ACC faculty and students by staff will be showcased.
The 2023 theme, “Get There Together: Supporting Student Success,” invites all employees to explore ways in which together, they can and do support student success as well as their own.
The Office of Faculty Development is seeking presenters for workshops and demonstrations that focus on:
- Using Pop Culture to Engage Students in Learning
- Accessibility and Universal Design
- Faculty Collaboration
- Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity
- Equitable Assessment and Grading Practices
- ACC Student and Faculty Resources
- Research at ACC (Research that has been done and/or how to get started)
- Resources as Content
- Using Technology in the Classroom
- Preventing Faculty Burn-out
- Wellness
- Career Development
- Sabbaticals
All workshops will be presented in person. Limited workshops and events also will be offered virtually. Training will be provided prior to the event, and support will be offered during the workshop to any presenters asked to provide online sessions.
The scheduled workshop and demonstration times are:
- 10:40 – 11:30 a.m.
- 12:30 – 1:20 p.m.
- 1:30 – 2:20 p.m.
- 2:30 – 3:20 p.m.
Double blocks of time can be requested if more presentation time is desired.
The proposal submission deadline is Monday, November 14, 2022.
Accepted presenters will be notified by the first week of December.

Spring Development Day offers a full day of inspiring sessions to enhance your practices and processes, improve creativity and wellness, and develop new technical talents, teaching techniques, and interpersonal skills. It also provides opportunities for networking and collaboration.
