Austin Community College District (ACC) hosts a Creative Careers Expo on November 11 and 13, 2021, to help prospective students explore careers in Austin’s creative sector. The event features special demonstrations and tours of ACC’s newest, state-of-the-art facilities, studios, and design labs at ACC Highland Campus, including:
- Culinary kitchens
- Radio-Television-Film studios
- Photography studios
- Art galleries
- Dance studios
- Music Recital Hall and rehearsal studios
- Music Business, Performance, and Technology studios
- Visual and Game Design and motion graphics labs
- Fashion labs and incubator
- Black Box Theatre and theatre technology labs
The event also features a special forum with guest speakers who will break down this diverse and growing industry and share exciting career pathways available through low-cost training at ACC.
“Austin Community College has always had dynamic and innovative programs in the fine, performing, and digital arts and we are thrilled to finally have all of these programs under one roof and to showcase them with the Creative Careers Expo. These incredible facilities will allow students to prepare for their chosen careers with the latest equipment and technology as they are instructed by award-winning faculty who are professionals in their fields,” says Perry Crafton, Art & Digital Media Division interim dean. “Austin has always been synonymous with arts, technology, and digital media and it’s through careers in the creative areas that help Austin maintain that reputation.”

2021 AUSTIN STUDIO TOUR
On Saturday, November 13, guests also can visit ACC’s inaugural art exhibitions at Highland during the 2021 Austin Studio Tour. Opportunities include ACC’s Juried Student Art Exhibition, the Strictly Abstraction Faculty Art Exhibition, classes with Mark Wilson, and a ceramics sale featuring items made by students in ACC’s Clay Club.
HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS
The events are free and open to the community and have been evaluated by ACC’s Emergency Operations Center. All events will follow the college’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols which include social distancing and face masks for all attendees.
