Austin Community College District (ACC) will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. The federal holiday honors U.S. Armed Forces veterans, including ACC military veteran students, faculty, and staff.

Employees are reminded to set up their out-of-office voicemail and email messages for the holiday. Classes and campus services will resume their regular schedules on Wednesday, November 12.

Celebrating Our Veterans

Veteran students, faculty, and staff are invited to pick up a free grab-and-go breakfast or lunch at campuses districtwide from November 3 to 13. RSVP to find out when they will be at each campus at tinyurl.com/ACCVeteransDayMeals.

ACC will also be participating in the Austin Veterans Day Parade and tabling at the resource fair at the Capitol.

ACC Supports Our Veterans

ACC support for veteran students and their families has been recognized by the State of Texas for the past three years. The College received the Gold Veterans Education Excellence Recognition Award (VEERA) from the Texas Veterans Commission.

For support, visit ACC’s Veterans Resource Center (VRC), located at the Highland Campus. Since opening in 2018, the VRC has provided tailored academic advising, financial aid assistance, emotional support, and community connections. The center also organizes outreach initiatives to promote the success and well-being of veterans and their families.

Registration Remains Open

Registration for the spring semester remains open. The College offers flexible course options, including in-person, online, hybrid, and hyflex classes. Spring classes begin Tuesday, January 20, 2025.
