Austin Community College District (ACC) Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart joined President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden as well as other national leaders, educators, and industry innovators at the White House’s Classroom to Career Summit on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. 

The premier event focused on bridging education with workforce development. Held at the White House in Washington, D.C., the summit spotlights effective programs that connect students’ classroom learning to real-world career paths.

“It’s been an incredible honor to represent my colleagues and Austin Community College at the White House Summit. The summit included Cabinet members, senior Administration officials, and workforce experts, along with K-12 and community college leaders nationwide. Topics spanned education-industry partnerships and workforce training, with ACC’s involvement underlining its dedication to community-focused education and career-building initiatives.

The summit highlights a national effort to provide high-quality, accessible career pathways that equip students with skills aligned to the demands of today’s job market.
