Planning for ACC’s proposed Free Tuition Program continues. After first hearing about the proposal during a Board Work Session in January 2024 and then getting an update at the February Work Session, the Board of Trustees has asked for a deeper look at how a program like this could happen at ACC, including its initial implementation and opportunities to expand.

Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart formed a series of workgroups to conduct due diligence in our planning. Seven teams were formed to closely examine and plan through various stages of implementation.

Below, we’ll learn more about the Intentional Onboarding and Support Workgroup, including who serves on the workgroup and the priority efforts and steps they’ve identified.

The Board of Trustees is expected to review the committee’s work to date at its next meeting on Monday, April 1.

What we plan to do Improve Funnel Communication
· Create new process maps and communication plans.
Our students’ journeys within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud will ensure appropriately timed and curated messages to help guide eligible students through our process with the helpful information they need about this program and their next steps.
· Craft an Acknowledgment Letter.
We want to ensure our students understand the details of this pilot program before they register for classes so they understand the difference between our offering of free tuition and the total cost of attendance.

New Student Enrollment
· Target Work with stakeholders to decide on a new goal.
Our committee will be working with appropriate stakeholders to ensure we are creating a measurable and realistic new student enrollment goal inclusive of the impact of the new Free Tuition pilot program. We also will work within the College High School Relations Office to get current data & lists of dual credit and Early College High School students and their parents to allow for direct outreach and strategic communication.

Technology & Data
· Purchase Lists.
The college will work to request and purchase as necessary lists from PSAT, SAT, ACT, College Board, etc., to ensure that we have the necessary data in more efficient timelines. This effort will help ensure we do not get bottlenecked during peak enrollment seasons waiting on data. We also will work within the College High School Relations Office to get current data & lists of dual credit and Early College High School students and their parents to allow for direct outreach and strategic communication.
· Online Orientation Software.
We will implement a new self-paced online orientation software that allows us to point staffing resources to more individualized support for our students.
· Help Desk Technology.
We will mature our Help Desk technology to accommodate the increase in student questions and the recent outages with our current systems.
