About the ACC Service-Learning Program

Service-Learning is a high-impact practice that integrates community engagement into the curricula of academic courses to meet course objectives. ACC’s Service-Learning Program assists faculty in finding community partners, designing engaging projects (including on-campus and remote opportunities), and helping students find a sense of belonging and purpose during their time at ACC. In addition, service-learning experiences readily translate into career skills.  More than 600 students and 30 classes participated in the program in spring 2023.

Faculty interested in learning more may participate in an Asynchronous Online Training that offers training in service-learning best practices. The online training offers a stipend, professional development credit, and a supportive community to help faculty implement service-learning into their courses.
