The Austin Community College District (ACC) Board of Trustees hosts a public hearing on the proposed annexation of the Pflugerville Independent School District (PfISD) territory into the ACC District.
Pflugerville ISD Annexation Public Hearing
Date: Thursday, July 16, 2026
Time: 5 – 7 p.m.
Location: PfISD Learning & Technology Center, 1601 W. Pecan St., Pflugerville
The hearing will be livestreamed on the College’s website and rebroadcast on ACCTV.
The hearing follows action by the ACC Board of Trustees on June 15 to accept a citizen petition requesting that an annexation proposition be placed before Pflugerville voters this November.
“Austin Community College District thanks the Pflugerville community for their interest in the College. Annexation is an important community decision, and local voters will determine whether Pflugerville joins the ACC District,” says Dr. Chris Cervini, ACC vice chancellor of Community and Public Affairs. “We encourage residents to attend the public hearing, ask questions, review the proposed service plan, and make an informed decision based on the facts.”
The event also will include a small resource fair to learn more about ACC’s programs and services and meet with faculty and staff. ACC officials will be available to answer questions and provide factual information about the proposed annexation, including the educational opportunities, workforce investments, tuition rates, and property tax implications outlined in the proposed service plan.
Proposed Service Plan
If approved by voters, residents living within the Pflugerville ISD boundaries would gain access to:
- In-district tuition and fees at ACC, reducing tuition from $286 to $85 per credit hour.
- Elimination of the current $201 per-credit-hour out-of-district fee.
- Expanded Career Academies in Health Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, and Skilled Trades in partnership with Pflugerville ISD.
- Deeper collaboration at the district’s new Career and Technical Education Center to expand dual credit, workforce credentials, and career-connected learning.
- In-district access to all ACC programs, including applied bachelor’s degrees at in-district costs, workforce training, customized training for local high-demand industries, adult education, advising, financial aid, career services, and other student support resources.
- Future consideration of ACC facility expansion within the Pflugerville area as educational and workforce needs grow and evolve.
The proposed service plan also outlines ACC’s property tax rate, available homestead and senior exemptions, and the College’s tax ceiling for seniors and homeowners with disabilities.
What Happens Next?
Following the public hearing, the ACC Board of Trustees is expected to consider an order placing the annexation proposition on the November 2026 ballot. If approved by voters, residents living within the Pflugerville ISD territory would immediately become ACC in-district residents and receive in-district tuition and fee benefits.
