Austin Community College District (ACC) offers dual credit programs that allow eligible high school students to earn college credit while still in high school. To help students and families understand how dual credit works, ACC is hosting a series of virtual information sessions.

Upcoming Virtual Dual Credit Information Sessions

  • Tuesday, February 17 | 6:30–7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 10 | 6 –7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 14 | 6 –7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 21 | 6 –7 p.m. (Homeschool families)

Sessions are designed for students in grades 8–12 who live in the ACC service area, which includes public, private, charter, and homeschool programs. Each virtual session covers program options, eligibility, costs, and enrollment steps. Participants will receive a Zoom link by email after registering.

Dual credit lets students earn college credit while still in high school, helping them save money, explore career pathways, and build momentum toward their future. Recent state legislation (SB 1191) also strengthens how dual credit courses are recognized. Starting this year,  your dual credit classes at ACC earn the same GPA weight as other college classes, like AP courses.

Ready to learn more? Join us for the information sessions and discover:

  • How to enroll and plan your schedule
  • What classes are available and where they’re offered (high school, ACC campus, or online)
  • How credits transfer and how dual credit compares to AP
  • What support services are available to help you succeed

Cost

Tuition and fees are waived for eligible students living in the ACC service area; however, students may be responsible for textbooks or other course materials required for their classes. Eligible students can take up to 60 credit hours or complete their associate degree.

ACC credits are highly transferable to most Texas public colleges and universities. Students are encouraged to confirm transferability with their intended four-year institution.
